Are you an egg, potato or a coffee bean? - Aarav Modi

A daughter complained to her father about how her life was miserable and she didn’t know where it was going to end up. Her father decided to teach her a lesson. He had a pot of boiling water and put three items inside of it: coffee beans, eggs and potatoes. After twenty minutes of the daughter impatiently waiting, her father turned off the burner of the pot. He asked his daughter to touch the potato and it was soft. She also touched the egg and the interior was hard unlike how it was before, a fragile object with the liquid yolk. Finally, she noticed that the coffee beans did not change one bit but the water had changed colour because of the coffee beans. After all this examination, the father told her that the potatoes, the eggs and coffee beans had each faced the same adversity-the the boiling water. However, each one reacted differently. The potato went in strong, hard and unrelenting, but in boiling water, it became soft and weak. The egg was fragile, with the thin outer shell protecting its liquid interior until it was put in the boiling water. Then the inside of the egg became hard. However, the coffee beans were unique. After they were exposed to the boiling water, they changed the water and created something new.

The moral of the story is that when adversity hits, it is up to you and you only how you choose to react to it and what you make out of it. Life is full of leaning, adapting and converting all of our struggles into strengths and a positive experience for us.
