Math and Money - Aarav Modi

Updated: Jul 2, 2020

The title above includes two very common words in today’s world. Many people might say that math is boring and at times, it really is. But there is a beauty that both math and money shares and it is that it seeps into every part of our lives. Math more than money, however. Spiders design their webs, snails make their own shells and bees make hexagonal hives. These are just a few examples of math in nature and in the wild. Math is the basis of order and justice in this world. The importance is the reason why we should all study math. However, memorizing and learning math algorithms and concepts are not appealing to youths. This is why we should try to enforce games and activities.

Games also bring the importance of coding. Coding is the future and coding is shaping most jobs. If kids learn to code, it fosters their creativity and builds their intellectual skills because coding is another language (or many different languages which each have their purposes). Coding builds math skills and is the reason that it is present in many STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) courses. It is included in almost everything we do online, from watching a movie on Netflix to playing a game of Fortnite.

The last thing is what sustains our world and what gives items value; money. Many people seem to always be deprived of money and that they are always poor. However, the knowledge of money called financial literacy can solve those problems. Many people are not taught how to manage their money in a way where they can get rich. The importance of financial literacy will keep you happy for the rest of your life. Finances are usually in every part of the world and in your life. For example, in a relationship, if you want to buy your partner an expensive gift that you cannot afford, you take a loan. When you take loans and do not pay them back, you will be forced to make very hard decisions in your life so it’s better to not go that route and learn how to manage all of those types of situations. If you study this hard and apply the concepts, it will really pay off.

The importance of math and money is very underestimated. We have them and use them all the time in our daily lives and we do not learn about them just because it is boring or lots of work? We need this or the world will be chaos.
